Approaches of data processing

Define Approaches of data processing:

i) Traditional File Approach. Or File Processing Systems

ii) Database Approach.

i) File processing system.

In file processing system, each department in an organization has its own set of files. The files are designed specially for their own applications. The records in one file are not related to the records in any other file.

ii) Database Approach

Database approach provides the facility of data sharing. Many programs and users can share the same data in the database for different purposes. For example, a database that stores the data of students can also be used by Library Management Program etc. The data in the database can be accessed by using database management system.
